DME and FFB Enter Strategic Alliance
Securing Long-Term Source of Supply for High Quality, Special Machined Plates
Mechelen/Fulda, Germany - January 16, 2008 – DME Europe has entered into a strategic alliance with Fulda Flachstahl Bearbeitungs GmbH & Co. KG (FFB), a newly formed company that recently acquired the Fulda manufacturing facility from DME. This move secures an exclusive long-term source of supply for the high quality, special machined plates that DME and its customers have come to rely on.
For DME customers, the ordering process for special plate remains unchanged.
Dave Lawrence, President and CEO of DME Company explains, “This strategic agreement supports DME’s goal to be an essential resource to its customers. FFB will concentrate on the high-quality, rapid delivery of special machined plates, enabling DME to focus its resources on the value-added manufacturing, distribution and servicing of world-class mold technologies. This enhances DME’s ability to bring customers the best, most cost-effective solution to their mold construction needs.”
Special machined plates are a critical component in the mold construction process. Mold designers often require custom solutions including steel qualities, dimensions or tolerances to maximize the productivity of their molds and minimize the total cost of ownership.
“We are committed to providing DME with the top-notch quality and rapid, timely delivery of special machine plates that its customers have come to expect,” said Matthias Rabenseifner, Managing Director of FFB.
While continuing to manufacture the current array of high-quality DME products from the Fulda plant, FFB will utilize the capacity of the plant to its fullest potential by introducing new products for markets beyond mold bases and die casting. “Beyond today’s production capabilities, our highly motivated team stands ready to expand the range of products and features through targeted investments,” Rabenseifner said.
DME’s field sales specialists and inside sales representatives stand ready to tend to all customer inquiries, tech support questions and orders, under the established phone numbers, fax numbers and e-mail addresses.
