DME LSR Cold Decks Bring Dramatic Cycle Time Reduction to NPE 2009
DME Company features its proven Cold Runner System designed for molding materials such as Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR), High Temperature Vulcanizing (HTV) silicone rubber, and other elastomers. First introduced to the market at K2007 in its beta test form, DME Company’s Eco-Smart is now commercially available and even more efficient with molding bioresins. DME has been dedicated to product enhancements, ease of application and increased performance for Eco-Smart to better process renewable polymers, including polylactic acid (PLA). Eco-Smart’s application-engineered hot runner nozzle assemblies feature corrosion-resistant components and address the low pressure requirements and cooling issues that PLA users face.

Cashew Gate Insesrts

Reduce Machining Time and Secondary Operations with Cashew Gate Inserts.
Cashew Gate Inserts are most effective when used in high volume, fast moving, molding applications where the molder needs to avoid the secondary operation of removing gates from the part. By enabling smaller diameters in the gate area, applications such as flat or thin-walled parts are also made easier. The “cashew” shaped design connects with a part below the parting line and, during part ejection, it provides automatic separation of the runner from the part.

Using a non-resettable, mechanical, 7-digit counter to record the accurate number of mold cycles, the DME CounterView relies on a sensor that detects when the mold has closed. DME Company spotlighted its new Turbulent Flow Plastic Baffles for faster mold cooling and reduced cycle timesr. The turbulent flow plastic baffles feature a proprietary design that eliminates cooling blow-by and seals the plastic blade of the baffle within the mold’s cooling channels to ensure uniform cooling. The innovative plastic baffle design creates turbulence within the cooling liquid – typically water or oil – serving to increase heat transfer and cool parts more quickly than traditional baffles.
